A Day From The Oasis

From porch coffee to pier sunset.

What your Sunday will look like — start to finish.

  1. 6:32 AM

First light over the live oaks. Coffee on the porch.

The sky goes peach behind the palms. Mockingbirds working through a setlist. Pull a chair up to the rail and wait for the day to warm.

  2. 8:00 AM

Lace up. Quick run on the Pinellas Trail.

Ten minutes’ walk to the trailhead. Pick a direction — forty-seven miles of paved trail either way, and a coffee shop waiting somewhere between mile two and three.

  3. 10:30 AM

Drive downtown for the Cleveland Street market.

Eight minutes by car. Grab heirloom tomatoes, a sourdough, and a bouquet for your kitchen counter. Walk the marina before heading home.

  4. 1:00 PM

Lunch on Clearwater Beach. Your toes in the sand by 1:20.

Across the Memorial Causeway, past the pelicans on the rail. Grouper sandwich at a place with no signage. The Gulf is sixty-four degrees and the sand is loud.

  5. 4:00 PM

Home for a power nap. The palm shadow does the work.

You’re back in seven minutes. Pull your blinds, leave the windows open. The fronds outside make a slow pattern on your wall that puts you out in three breaths.

  6. 7:30 PM

Catch sunset at Pier 60. Drum circle. Street performers, real ones.

Half the beach turns out for the sunset, and you’re part of it now. The drum circle starts ten minutes before the sun hits the water and doesn’t quit until the last orange goes out of the sky.

  7. 10:00 PM

Home. The pool’s still warm. Stars between the palm fronds.

A swim before bed. The pool holds the day’s heat past midnight in summer. Lay on your back and look up — the palms make a moving frame around a square of stars. This is the part you came for.

Your front door is closer to all of this than you think.

Twenty minutes on the property tells you more than any map. Come walk the grounds, then drive to the beach and see how short it really is.
